Corona, Riverside County
Corona was founded in 1886 by citrus growers and for decades shipped so many lemons that it was called the Lemon Capital of the World. Its founders laid out Grand Boulevard as a perfect circle three miles around, enclosing the original town. Race cars sped around that circle in road races held in 1913, 1914 and 1916.
